Watercolour Swans

Good morning friends, followers and casual visitors, thank uou for visiting today.   Each month over on the Docrafts site there is an inspirational challenge  which is usually a photograph from which you can choose any elements that inspire you.   This month's photo was of a swan which I combined with a friend's photo from facebook and I painted a watercolour scene.

Watercolour lighthouse greeting card

Good morning it's lovely and sunny here and we are having a bbq with friends this afternoon. So I thought I would just quickly share another watercolour with you before I have to feed and walk the dogs,  go shopping, season the chicken etc. etc.
I painted this on a Bockingford watercolour card blank using watercolour paints from various sets, as not all had the colours I wanted.

The inspiration came from The Frugal Crafter, Lindsay Wreich on youtube.

Thank you for visiting and any comnents you may wish to leave are always appreciated.

Zinnia Hair Clippie

Good morning to all my lovely friends and followers. It rained here during the night which has watered my garden for me, saves me doing it later lol.
I watched another youtube tutorial yesterday and just had to have a go at.............yes another Kanzashi flower..........sorry 😔. I hope you like it any way 😁.
This one took a while to do and I used 1/2" Satin ribbon, cut in lengths of 2.5 cm x 15,  3 cm x 15, 3.5 cm x 15, 4cm x 15. Each petal was curled using a lighter and then threaded together before being assembled.

Thank you for visiting, I hope you'll come back soon.  I would just like to say that I truly appreciate your very kind comments and if you do wish to follow my blog, then do please let me know so that I can return the favour.
Thank you and hugs.

More hair clippies

Good afternoon from a very tired me today. Late nights do not agree with me although Paloma Faith was awesome, I am feeling the effects of not getting home until after midnight. Gosh I'm getting old!!!
So today I thought I would share a couple more hair clippies which I created to keep myself awake lol. I hope you like them.

This one took some time to put together as I had to create each petal separately out of ribbon. Materials used was hair clip, 4 in wide grosgrain ribbon, thin ribbon to cover hair clip, circle of felt, flat backed pearls and a glue gun.

This one on the other hand was very simple and took minutes to make. All I needed was a hair clip, ribbon,  heart embellishments and a glue gun

Thank you for taking the time to visit and for any comments you may wish to leave.

Wedding Bunting

Good evening friends, followers and fellow bloggers, it's lovely and sunny here and yay its the weekend.  I am going to a Paloma Faith concert tomorrow night being held in a forest,  so excited!!! So hoping for no wet stuff thank you very much..
I wanted to share with you the bunting which I made for a friend who gets married on the 18th July. I have also made her invitations for her a while back. Her colour theme was her partner's favourite local football team which is Royal Blue and White. I have never made bunting and don't think I want to again, well not heart shaped anyway.  I also have never appliquéd anything either so the letters were my first attempt and realky hope they do look ok.  After a bit of pressing the hearts look a lot neater.

I hope you like my efforts.
Thank you for visiting and if you do leave any comments than yoh for those too.

Watercolour landscape

Good afternoon friends, followers and fellow bloggers and welcome to new followers,  it's lovely and sunny here today,  so I thought best to make the most of it. I have had the urge to paint with watercolours for a whole now and have watched numerous videos on YouTube for inspiration. So today, I sat on my patio, after dusting the cobwebs off my paints and brushes which hadn't been used in over 5 years, and painted this landscape.
The inspiration for this came from The Frugal Crafter, who is such a lovely bubbly individual and she showed some great techniques which I hadn't tried before, so she is worth checking out.
I hope you like my attempt, although a bit rusty, I really enjoyed painting again.

Thanks for dropping by and if you do leave any comments good a huge thank you for that too.

Hand drawn cactus

Good morning, friends,  followers and fellow bloggers, I hope you are all well and the weather is being kind to you.  I have had a very busy few days, starting with having my 10 year old grandaughter stay with me at the weekend. She's like a little tornado but we had fun, crafting,  horse riding and cycling to our local coastal park. Yesterday was housework, dog walking 8 dogs and meeting a friend to hand back her dog who we'd been looking after for 4 plus weeks.
So today's card is one that I have made for a floral challenge over on Docrafts. The task was to make a feminine and masculine card and seeing as all my floral images etc. are very feminine, I decided to draw my own. This had another value to it as it encouraged my grandaughter to have a go at drawing too and she produced a beautiful drawing of my artificial flower arrangement, which unfortunately she took home 😔.

I scanned and printed my drawing,  as I didn't want to use the original and then mounted onto black card.
I then used a page from an old book purchased for 10p at a second hand book shop and inked the edges with black ink.
Newsprint Card Candi was added to 2 corners and Washi tape added to the top.

I do hope you like this card and it inspires you to make a masculine floral card. If you would like a copy of my drawing,  then please email me.
Hugs and best wishes.

Commissioned cards

Good morning friends, followers and fellow bloggers. It's lovely and sunny here today, so why am I laying on my bed surrounded by 7 dogs when I should be out walking them? ??? I don't know lol.
Any way I wanted to share my latest makes with you all before I start my day properly.
I was asked yet again by my new neighbours to make 4 cards and here is the result
The decoupage sheet for this one is from Craftsuprint Here
I had to cover up the snowflakes on the background which I only noticed once I'd completed the card (whoops) but some trusty flower sequins came to the rescue lol.

I used paper from my stash which was probably a magazine freebie, flowers from The Works, punched daisies and a Martha Stewart border punch and butterflies from Around a Pound shop for this one

For this black card I used everything from my stash apart from the fairy which was part of a challenge prize over on Docrafts

This is my favourite as I love yellow and daisies. I just hope my neighbour does too lol. Yet again paper was a magazine freebie, daisies were die cut andthe MUM die cut was part of another challenge prize over on Docrafts.

A big thank you for visiting my blog and for your comments.  If you do wish to follow me, please let me know so that I can return the favour.
