More animal portraits

I haven't been on here for a while, so I thought I would show you what I have been creating lately. I am still working on my wild animal portraits for my exhibition in December. I am also going to be attending a few dog events to exhibit my work. So here are a few if my latest pieces.

This little lion cub portrait will be going in to my exhibition. I took this photo with my phone as soon as I'd finished it, so it isn't the best quality but it does give you a glimpse of the original photo which is from Pixabay.

I was commissioned to paint this beautiful boy by a lovely lady as a gift for her daughter.

These two handsome dogs are another commission for a lady who won one of my donated gift certificates in a dog charity auction.

A few for my exhibition

At the end of the year I shall be exhibiting my artwork locally to me.  Here are a few pieces ready to ge put away for it.

As you may guess the theme is wild animals and I shall try, where possible, to use my own photographs, if not I will use royalty free ones from Paint my Photo or Pixabay.

Thank you for dropping by to take a look and please feel free to comment

Latest portraits

Here are my 3 latest commissioned portraits, all pastel on velour.

The first one is of  Casey the German Shepherd

This second one is of Bobby who sadly crossed over the Rainbow Bridge last week.  I was asked to do his portrait by the owner's daughter.  I also made a card to put in with it on behalf of the daughter too.

This last one is of a little dog that has recently been re-homed by a young lady I met when I had a stall at a London Rescue Centre's doggy event

Paws in the Park Kent Showground weekend

Hi everyone, I thought it was about time I updated my blog since the last event I attended.  In my previous blog I told you that I was going to have a stall at a local event to me, called Paws in the Park.  It was a great weekend full of fabulous stalls, dog shows and most of all PEOPLE.  I received 4 commissions from this, 3 on the actual days, which was remarkable.  So I thought I would share with you the portraits that I was commissioned to do.

These 2 portraits of Bichon Frises were commissioned by a lovely Finnish couple.  The first one is of there 2 dogs who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge and the second one is of the lady's sister's dogs and will be going to Finland. Yay!

This little lady is called Hetty, she is such a cutie and gentle natured little dog. Both the couple who commissioned the Bichons and the couple who commissioned this one had come to the event specificalky to find a pet portrait artist. How thrilled am I that they found me!!! 😁

The lady who commissioned the portrait of this handsome chap contacted me a few weeks after the event.  This is a gift for her Father for his birthday, as its his dog who has also crossed the Rainbow Bridge 😢

Lastly I thought I would share with you the 2 portraits that I painted whilst at the event:

This first one was requested by my step-daughter. Her work colleague's little dog had just crossed Rainbow Bridge and dhe wanted me to make something memorable for her.  Glad to say her colleague was extremely touched by my step-daughter's thoughtfulness and of course, the portrait 😶

Finally, this little beauty is called Summer. My husband and I often gave the privelege of looking after her while her owners go on holiday. I could not resist painting her portrait, more for me than anyone lol.

Well that's all folk! I hope you enjoyed today's blog and I will be back soon with some of my other commissions and paintings I have done for fun.

Take care and thank you for visiting x
